photo contest

I’d like to give out something for free because I’m in a good mood today.  🙂

Just send a picture of you and partner – as simple as that. This is sort of a photo contest and I’m going to be the judge. I will not be looking for the best, as in photo-contest-caliber shot but just enough to make me smile. It maybe taken from a cellphone, P&S camera or digital camera. Please limit the size of picture to 400pixel width. You may email it at dinolara@yahoo.com and put a subject “photo contest entry” and please give me your name and contact details.

Only 1 winner for this contest. The price is not convertible to cash also. The winner will win a brand new HP Deskjet D2360 Printer.

Deadline of submission will be on March 6 12MN (Manila time). You don’t have to be my client to join but all wedding suppliers are not allowed to join.

Again, I’m looking for cute picture of you and your partner. Be as sweet as possible. But remember that I’ll be posting the winner online, if you submit revealing pictures it will be disqualified automatically. But you will receive a thank you letter from me because you satisfied my personal issues.  🙂

sino ba si dino lara?  dino lara was the first wedding photographer that impressed us with his works.  it was still very early in our wedding preps that we got to see his works thru the net and might we say that his works really do stand out from the rest… especially when it comes to layouting.  very particular kasi kami sa layouting.  but we really didn’t give him much thought back then because his price tag is way, way too high.  we’ve been admirers of his work ever since though.  🙂  fast forward sa aming wedding preps and we got to know A LOT of photographers but still no one comes close to dino’s layouting (shot-making, meron… but layouting, ala, eh)… until we met our photographer, fol.  😉

funny, no?  kasi d namin pinansin c dino kasi sa rates nya… but we ended up with fol whose rates are a bit identical to dino’s.  ni-hypnotize ata kami ni fol noong ni-mit namin sya sa bahay nila, eh.  hehe.  kidding aside, we did consider dino during the time we were considering fol na.  fol just won out in the end dahil gus2 sya ni selle.  😆  true, it just means that personality-wise, panalo talaga si fol.  ganun kasi kami ni selle, eh… i decide on the skill/quality level… after ma-trim down, selle will give the final decision based sa kanilang personality and vibe.  ok, no?  it worked kasi we ended up with the best suppliers.  🙂

anyway, balik sa photo contest.  shared the dino lara blog posting with selle and we got excited.  wala naman mawawala, eh.  syempre, sali naman kami, dba?  hehe.  here’s another funny thing… we haven’t bought our own personal computer yet para sa house so anong gagawin namin sa printer kung manalo kami?  haha.  sabi na lang namin ni selle, if we win, we buy a pc na.  if not, eh d buy na din.  😀

all shots were timed (except pic number 3).  all shots were taken by a panasonic lumix fx9 camera (point-and-shoot lang). 

come decision week, dino posted the finalist and picture #3 came out as one of the finalists.  hehe.  nahihirapan daw pumili c dino kaya meron pa sya finalist-finalist.  so, i checked dino’s blog from time-to-time (hehe. excited.) for the announcement of the winner…

…and the winner is…

when dino wrote he didn’t have a clear criteria on selecting the winner and just wanted a picture that would make him smile, we thought na talo na nga kami at eto nga mananalo.  pero hoping pa din kaya naman inabangan pa din namin result.  hehe.  kung alam lang namin na ala criteria, eh d we would’ve sent a different of pictures.  hahaha.  sore losers, no?  😛

so there.  our photo contest experience.  from here on… we will never visit dino’s blog again.  hahaha.  joke.  sore losers talaga, eh, no?  😉  actually, we saw dino sa wedding expo at gus2 sana namin sya lapitan.  la lang… hihingi lang explanation bakit kami natalo.  haha.  ang kulet.  pero nahiya kami kaya d na lang.  mukhang napaka-seryosong tao kasi nun ni dino in person, eh.  buti pa c fol… masaya-hin.  🙂 

pictures, pictures, pictures…  i think i’ll write about our “fascination” about pictures in the coming blogs.  🙂
